Cave Hill Hike - Bukkertillibe Track 10kms Hike 53 15th November 2018 By Mary Cannon Fifteen strong drove out from Lucus to Mt Buangor where our hike started. Gordon gave us a rundown on what to expect and without further ado we began. The first part was a delightful walk through fields of bracken with tall tree ferns at various stages of maturity. Birds serenaded us with beautiful song. On to Middle Creek where we crossed over Ferntree Waterfalls road and the track sidles across a large spur in open forest to a major creek and then to Two Mile track. Elevation continued at an alarming rate and care had to be taken with the rocky narrow track. (path less travelled). Soon we were confronted with a steep section of bare rock that we had to cross on lengths of timber screwed to the rock and a chain to hold onto. We had morning tea at another section of bare rock where we could sit and admire expansive views out to the west and Langhi Ghiran.
